How To Keep This Country Great
THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD
AND WHAT WE HAVE TO DO IN ORDER TO KEEP IT THAT WAY
In March of 1942, three months after the entry of the US in WWII, approximately 110,000 people of Japanese ancestry, that resided on the west coast, almost all of them US citizens of which two thirds were born in the US, were herded up and sent off to internment camps where they remained for the duration of the war. There were no subversive acts of war, sabotage or terrorism committed by these people. And yet in spite of the shameful treatment that they were subjected to, from within their ranks came volunteers that comprised the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, our most highly decorated unit of WWII.
The war that we are fighting today – and make no mistake about it, for it is a war – is far more insidious than the one that we entered into seventy five years ago. There are no borders and our enemy plays by no set of rules that we have ever encountered. Do we need the kind of security that was inflicted upon our loyal Japanese population during WWII. The answer is both yes and no.
To be sure, the US is not against immigration or religion of any kind. When you stop to think about it, of all the different countries on our planet, 193 according to the UN, as far as I know, only two of them, are made up primarily of immigrants who sought life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and freedom of religion. And those two countries are America and Israel. Think about it for a moment.
When our country was established the founding fathers, not some prophet who preaches death if everything is not done his way, made sure that there would be separation of church and state and that there shall be no laws that favor one religion over another. Today there are some immigrants in our country who do not abide by the Constitution and seek to promote their religion while damning all others or are intent on precluding those laws that spring forth from our Constitution and replace them with laws that are contrary to what our country is and what it stands for or ask us to revise our history textbooks. This cannot be allowed no matter what excuse or rationale is given. Those who give in and capitulate to those requests are nothing more than spineless cowards and traitors.
So what are we to do in order that we may win this war?
First and foremost, our borders have to be made secure, not just for our Mexican neighbors, but for every other country else as well. To have borders that are porous so that anyone can come and go as they please, is not a smart thing to do. If that means building a wall, so be it. Once that is done, any other steps taken will be far more effective.
The next step is for Congress to mandate that anyone and everyone coming to our shores, not just Muslims, be required to sign a loyalty oath, be photographed, fingerprinted and provide a DNA sample prior to being granted entry to the US, except those who are here only for a visit. After all of the necessary mechanisms have been put into place, all existing illegal immigrants should be required to comply with these same provisions within a specified time, if they want to remain here.
Most wars, in order to be won, usually include winning the hearts and minds of the people. This third condition is necessary in order for us to achieve final victory. If this is so, then the children of all of the immigrants from Kindergarten through and including High School must be schooled in any of OUR public or private schools or other schools that adhere to the requirements of the US Public School System where hatred of individuals or their religion is not part of the curriculum.
Unless we can do these things it is unlikely that we will win the war against ISIS, ISIL, Islamic Jihadists or whatever you want to call them.
